About one month after making its debut in China, Oppo has finally released the smartphones from the Reno 12 series on the international market. Oppo focused a great deal of attention on the device’s design and included a number of AI-powered capabilities in the Reno 12 series.
1. Oppo Reno 12 Pro (Global) specs:
The Reno 12 Pro, to start, has a wavy pattern on the rear of its Nebula Silver colour option that resembles ripples in liquid metal in motion. The ribbon separates the matte and glossy portions of the Space Brown and Sunset Gold colour variants. The two colour variants weigh 180 grammes and measure 7.40 mm, respectively, while the Nebula Silver model weighs 181 grammes and is 7.45 mm thick.
With an astounding 93.5% screen-to-body ratio, the device’s front panel is a 6.7-inch OLED FHD+ (2412 × 1080 pixels) curved Infinite View Screen, a hybrid of a curved and straight screen. With a refresh rate of 120 Hz, it can achieve a maximum brightness of 1200 nits, supports HDR10+, and features an in-display fingerprint scanner. Corning Gorilla Glas Victus 2 shields the gadget.
The device’s internal components include a Mali-G615 MC2 GPU and a MediaTek Dimensity 7300- Energy 4nm processor. It comes with 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage and up to 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Unexpectedly, Oppo has included a microSD card slot for memory expansion that supports up to 1TB.
The smartphone has a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, optical image stabilisation, and a 1/1.95′′ Sony LYT-600 sensor for optics. A 50MP 2x telephoto camera with a Samsung JN5 sensor with a Ò/2.2 aperture, as well as an 8MP 112º ultra-wide camera with a Sony IMX355 sensor and up to 20x digital zoom, are combined with the primary camera. It features a 50MP Samsung JN5 sensor with an f/2.0 aperture on the front.
As was already mentioned, the company has included a lot of AI-powered features this time around. AI Clear Face improves group shots with HD clarity and less distortion, while AI Eraser 2.0 makes it easy to remove undesirable elements from photographs. AI Smart Image Matting 2.0 facilitates fast cutouts and creative element additions to images, while AI Best Face automatically opens closed eyelids in group shots.
A 5000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC rapid charging powers the Reno 12 Pro. An infrared sensor, stereo speakers, and dust and splash resistance (IP65) are among the extra features.
2. Oppo Reno 12 (Global) specs:
The 6.7-inch FHD+ (2412 × 1080 pixels) curved OLED display of the OPPO Reno 12 Pro has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a maximum brightness of 1200 nits. The MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy 4nm processor powers it, along with 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage that can be expanded to 1TB using microSD and up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM.
The rear camera combination consists of a 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS, an 8MP 112º ultra-wide Sony IMX355 sensor with a ̒/2.2 aperture, and a 50MP Samsung JN5 sensor that can be used as a 20x digital zoom telephoto camera. It has a 50MP front camera with a Samsung JN5 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and 4K 30 frames per second video recording capabilities for selfies. All of the Pro model’s AI camera functions are included in the device.
A 5000mAh battery that supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging powers the phone. Infrared sensor, USB Type-C audio, stereo speakers, and an in-display fingerprint sensor are among the other features. It withstands splashes and dust (IP65).
3. Pricing & availability
Nebula Silver and Space Brown are the available colour options for the OPPO Reno 12 Pro, which costs 599 Euros (US$ 643) or 499 GBP (US$ 633) for the 12GB + 512GB model.
The OPPO Reno12 costs 499 euros (US$ 435) for the 12GB + 256GB model and comes in Astro Silver and Matte Brown colours. Later this month, these models will be gradually introduced to other regions after starting to roll out in Europe and the UK.
