On December 12, Vivo is scheduled to introduce the Vivo X200, its flagship smartphone series for the upcoming generation, in India. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has disclosed specifications ahead of the launch, including information about the camera, battery, and new AI features driven by FunTouch OS 15, which is based on Android 15.
Three models of the Vivo X200 series—the Vivo X200, X200 Pro, and X200 Pro Mini—were initially released in China in October. However, the tiny flagship model is still exclusively accessible in China, and only the regular and Pro models will be offered in India.
Vivo X200 Series: Camera
The 200MP telephoto camera of the Vivo X200 Pro was created in collaboration with Zeiss, a German optical company. A 135mm portrait focal length, Telephoto Macro mode with AI focussing, Telephoto Nightscape mode, 4K HDR Cinematic Portrait Video, and other cutting-edge imaging features will be made possible by the new sensor.
To improve image processing, the smartphone will also have a backup “V3+ imaging chip.”
Although the primary camera and ultra-wide lens specifications are unknown, it is anticipated that they will resemble those of the Chinese version, in which the X200 Pro is outfitted with the same 200MP telephoto lens. It is anticipated that the base X200 model would likewise resemble its Chinese equivalent.
Vivo X200 Series: Performance and Battery
The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chip will power the Vivo X200 and X200 Pro. With the base model having a 5,800mAh battery and the Pro model having a 6,000mAh cell, the handsets will launch Semi-Solid State Battery technology in India. While 30W wireless charging will only be available on the Pro model, 90W wired charging will be supported by both devices.
There are no changes to the battery specifications for the Indian market.
Vivo X200 Series: FunTouch OS 15
Android 15-based FunTouch OS 15 will power the Vivo X200 series. OriginOS 5, which runs the series in China, has been renamed as this version. The majority of OriginOS’ AI-powered capabilities, including AI Note Assist, AI Transcript Assist, and AI-powered gallery search, will be available in FunTouch OS 15. However, Vivo’s proprietary AI assistant, featured in OriginOS, will be replaced by Google’s Gemini as the default virtual assistant. Additionally, Google’s gesture-based Circle to Search functionality will be included in the update.
Vivo X200 Series: Design and Display
With its quad-curved 6.78-inch ZEISS Master Colour display and LTPO technology, the X200 Pro will have dynamic refresh rates ranging from 1 to 120 Hz. A 6.67-inch AMOLED FHD+ screen with refresh rates between 60 and 120 Hz will be featured in the base model.
The X200 Pro will come in Titanium Grey and Cosmos Black, with a thickness of 8.20mm. The base model will come in Cosmos Black and Natural Green and measure 7.99mm thick.
There will be fewer colour options available in India, even though the display specifications for the Indian versions are identical to those of the Chinese devices. For instance, the X200 Pro will only be offered in black and grey in India, despite having been released in China in a variety of colours, including white and a blue tint.
