Even when a brand is flourishing, it’s important to always be hustling and working towards new heights. Victor Madu is the CEO of fashion brand For the Leaux, and he’s already sold over 20,000 products to customers in all 50 states and over 20 countries. However, he’s not done building his empire.
While it’s an incredibly successful brand, For the Leaux is still developing and changing. In addition to his work with his clothing brand, Victor Madu wants to help other fashion entrepreneurs thrive. “I want to open my own warehouse and distribution center,” he says. “It will help my brand develop, but also give up-and-coming clothing brands resources that are currently hard to find. I would have loved to have help like that when I started.” Madu is also passionate about competitive gaming, and he wants to build a competitive gaming community surrounding his clothing brand. “I want gamers like myself to be able to monetize their skills and earn from the things they love,” he says. “I think gaming fits very well with the aesthetic I have for my clothes and with my current customer base.” Many people urge Madu to open his own brick and mortar store for For the Leaux, but he doesn’t see that happening any time soon. “I don’t think 2020 is the right time to make that jump. I also don’t think it’s necessary to bring in that component right now. I’m perfectly happy operating my brand online.”
Of course, Madu wants to build up a broader customer base for his clothing brand. However, he doesn’t want to do so in a conventional way. Since he started his company, he hasn’t spent a dime on advertising. Instead, For the Leaux operates on social media with the help of brand ambassadors and rabid fans. “I’m passionate about creating a community,” he says. “I don’t want to draw people with gimmicks. I want to find people who share my mindset and love the look of our brand.” So far, this strategy has worked very well for him.
The potential for growth is one of the most important aspects of a brand. For the Leaux is currently on an upward trajectory and has some exciting things in the pipeline in the coming months.
