The odd and frightening horror film Cuckoo, starring Dan Stevens and Hunter Schafer, has a new trailer out.
Gretchen, 17, reluctantly moves out of her American home to be with her father, who has bought a new family and relocated into a resort in the German Alps. Mr. König, her father’s supervisor, welcomes them to their new home and seems strangely interested in Gretchen’s silent half-sister Alma. There seems to be a problem in this peaceful vacation paradise. Gretchen experiences violent images and strange noises until she learns a startling family truth.
Cuckoo trailer 2 dials up the unease
Tilman Singer, a German writer and director, is the author of Cuckoo. His earlier release, the mesmerising Luz, was a brief but impactful nod to Euro-horror from the 1980s.
Astrid Berges-Frisbey (I Origins), Mila Lieu (Dodger), Dan Stevens (The Guest), Jessica Henwick (Glass Onion), Hunter Schafer (Euphoria), and Greta Fernandez (Elisa & Marcela) are among the actors who star in it.
Executive producers of the movie are Ryan Friscia, Jeff Deutchman, Emily Thomas, and Tom Quinn of Neon. Markus Halberschmidt, Josh Rosenbaum, Ken Kao, Thor Bradwell, and Ben Rimmer are the producers.
In 2024, it appears to be Neon’s most recent horror smash. The supernatural serial killer film Longlegs directed by Oz Perkins and starring Sydney Sweeney as the religious nightmare Immaculate have both already come out of the studio this year.
