Shatrughan Sinha recalls legendary performer Sulochana Latkar, saying, “Fortunate to have played her reel son in many films”

Shatrughan Sinha, a seasoned performer and politician, paid heartfelt homage to the late Sulochana Latkar and Gufi Paintal, who passed away in Mumbai on June 4 and 5, respectively. Shatrughan said on Thursday that working with Sulochana had been “a great pleasure” and that he felt “extremely fortunate to have played her son in many films.” Together, the two appeared in films like Chor Ho To Aisa (1978) and Khoon Bhari Maang (1988), among others.

Sulochana, who was well-known for her parts in Hindi and Marathi films, passed away on June 4 in a Mumbai hospital after a protracted illness, according to her grandson-in-law Parag Ajgavkar. She was 94 years old. On May 8, the actor was admitted to Dadar’s Shushrusha Hospital. “She died at the hospital about 6:30 o’clock. She was admitted on May 8 due to a respiratory tract illness, Parag had previously informed PTI.
