Rocket Lab USA, Inc., a well-known supplier of space equipment and launch services, has announced that it has scheduled the Electron launch for Kinéis, a global supplier of Internet-of-things (IoT) connectivity.
The launch window for the “IOT 4 You and Me” mission is scheduled to open on February 4th NZDT. There will be a daily launch chance at 09:43 am NZDT (20:43 UTC) over this multi-day period. Launch Complex 1, Rocket Lab’s private orbital launch pad in New Zealand, will be the launch location. This mission is the fourth of five specific Electron launches that Kinéis has contracted for, with the goal of installing all 25 IoT satellites in the constellation. Electron successfully completed the first three missions in June, September, and November of 2024.
“IOT 4 You and Me,” Rocket Lab’s first flight of 2025, is expected to pave the way for a year in which the company hopes to best its previous record of 16 launches in 2024 for both the Electron and HASTE vehicles.
Rocket Lab founder and CEO, Peter Beck, explained: “Last year we launched dedicated three missions for Kinéis, deploying 15 satellites to precise and tailored orbits to get the constellation up and running rapidly. We’re excited to continue the relationship in 2025 with our first mission off the pad for the year.”
The “IOT 4 You and Me” mission will be Rocket Lab’s first launch of 2025 and the company’s 59th Electron launch in total. The 2025 launch manifest includes Electron missions for commercial and government customers, as well as HASTE missions from Launch Complex 2. Each mission’s precise launch windows will be revealed when the time is right.
