It is projected that the 2025 Renault Duster, which was just introduced in South Africa, will reach India by March 2025. This model of right-hand drive is identical to the model of left-hand drive. It boasts enough of room for both passengers and freight because it is built on the CMF-B platform.
The 2025 Duster has a fully hybrid drivetrain worldwide. It generates 140 horsepower and 148 Nm of torque by combining a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with two electric motors and an automated gearbox. The vehicle’s 1.2 kWh battery, which is charged by brake regeneration, helps it achieve 24.5 km/l of fuel efficiency.
The new Duster has a wheelbase of 2,657 mm and a length of 4,340 mm. Round fog lights at the front, a revised bumper with vertical air vents, and Y-shaped LED DRLs are also part of its appearance. It has a redesigned bumper and Y-shaped taillamps on the back.
The Duster’s interior features include a new 10.1-inch touchscreen and a 7-inch digital cluster. In addition to an Arkamys 3D sound system and real-time traffic updates on its map, it enables wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
A version with a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder gasoline engine and a 48V electric motor running on the Miller cycle is also available on the international market. When starting or accelerating, this configuration helps save fuel. Its 0.8 kWh battery is charged by a regenerative braking mechanism.
There is an LPG version that uses separate tanks with a 50-liter capacity each to run on both fuel and LPG. Changing gasoline types is easy using a button on the dashboard.
The Duster for India may have the same 48V electric motor and 1.2-liter engine as the South African variant, potentially with 4X4 capability. Which engines will be available locally is still unknown, though.
Market Competition and Pricing Strategy
Models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Honda Elevate will compete with the Duster in the small SUV market. Because of localisation efforts, the next Renault Duster is probably going to be reasonably priced in India.
