Filmmakers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, popularly known as Raj and DK, paid respect to the veteran who passed away on Wednesday by sharing their recollections of the late actor Sameer Khakhar from his final appearance in the web series Farzi.
Legendary actor Sameer Khakhar passed away in Mumbai on Wednesday as a result of multiple organ failure. He was best known for playing Khopdi in the iconic television series Nukkad in 1986. The veteran actor’s coworkers Krishna DK and Raj Nidimoru recalled working with him on Farzi sets and talked about their experiences with him.
The Farzi web series creators, whose work debuted on Prime Video in February, paid tribute to Sameer on Twitter. They claimed, “When we were young, Khopdi from Nukkad had such an impression on us! He was unique and eccentric. Even when he was drunk, he spoke the truth. Later, many years later, we read his interview, in which he expressed his desire to once again appear in front of the camera.”
Ganesh Khakhar, Sameer’s brother, verified the news of his passing. The 71-year-old reportedly had urinary and respiratory problems, according to a report.
