Preethi Pal, an Indian track and field athlete, made history on Sunday by winning the bronze in the 200-meter T35 category with a personal best time of 30.01 seconds, making history as the first Indian woman to win two medals in the Paralympics.
The 23-year-old Preethi’s bronze was also India’s second medal in the paralympics held in Paris.
Athletes with coordination problems such as hypertonia, ataxia, and athetosis are classified as T35.
With a personal best time of 14.21 seconds, she won bronze in the women’s T35 100m competition on Friday, earning India’s first athletics medal in a Paralympic track event.
