The magnificent skyline of Kuala Lumpur served as the backdrop for the launch of the electric Macan, which goes on sale today for RM 430,000 for the base single-motor model.
With the goal of providing a distinctive Porsche driving experience in a useful SUV package, this is Porsche’s first totally electric SUV.
The new Macan aims to satisfy the needs of both Porsche aficionados and electric vehicle (EV) fans with its svelte styling, extended range, and everyday usage.

Since its worldwide premiere, the electric Macan has already attracted a lot of attention.
The Macan, which is based on Porsche’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE), has a 100 kWh battery pack with 95 kWh of usable capacity and state-of-the-art 800-volt design. The base rear-wheel-drive Macan has a WLTP-certified range of up to 641 km and produces 265 kW (360 PS).
The all-wheel-drive Macan 4 generates 300 kW (408 PS) for those who want more power, and the Macan 4S boosts output to 380 kW (516 PS). With an amazing 470 kW (639 PS) and 1,130 Nm of torque, the Macan Turbo, the top model in the lineup, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds.
With the ability to fast-charge from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes at compatible stations, charging is simple. By using a dual-bank design, the novel battery technology also enables effective charging at 400-volt stations.
The Macan’s updated design optimises proportions for EV architecture while maintaining the traditional Porsche appearance. Its frameless doors, coupe-like roofline, and sharper lines convey refinement, while new aerodynamic elements including a sealed underbody and an adjustable rear spoiler help it achieve a low drag coefficient of 0.25.
The Macan’s interior provides more room and functionality. The Macan is more adaptable than ever thanks to its 84-liter “frunk” and up to 540-liter rear luggage capacity. Storage may be increased to 1,348 litres by folding down the back seats. The driver-focused experience is improved with lower seating positions and a redesigned cockpit that combines digital screens with Porsche’s classic design features.
Driving Dynamics and New Tech
For the first time, the electric Macan has rear-axle steering, which improves stability at high speeds and agility at low ones. On some models, air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is standard, offering a higher level of comfort and performance.
A 12.6-inch curved driver display, 10.9-inch infotainment and passenger panels, and cutting-edge features like voice commands and augmented reality head-up displays are some of the technological highlights.
