Users have always been able to fully tailor their OneUI experience on Galaxy smartphones thanks to Samsung’s Good Lock. Up until now, the feature—which can be accessed through the Good Lock app—has only been offered through the Galaxy Store and has been restricted to specific areas. However, support for Good Lock is expected to grow when OneUI 7 is released in 2025. Users around the world will soon be able to download the app, which will also be available on the Google Play Store for the first time.

Good Lock has been providing users with greater control over their Samsung Galaxy devices for a number of years. The application lets users customise OneUI in a number of ways, such as changing the Samsung launcher that comes pre-installed and enabling programs to run on the cover display of gadgets like the Galaxy Z Flip.

The announcement of Good Lock’s growth coincides with Samsung’s plans to release OneUI 7, which is now in beta testing for the Galaxy S24 series and is anticipated to be released for the Galaxy S25 series. Good Lock will be accessible to a far larger audience as it will be offered in every country for the first time.

Users in areas where Good Lock was unavailable until recently were forced to come up with workarounds or use alternative techniques, like sideloading the program from unaffiliated websites. Now that it’s available everywhere, more people will be able to use its features, which include adding widgets that weren’t previously feasible, changing the layout of apps, and customising the user experience. Furthermore, customers will be able to download and update Good Lock straight from the Google Play Store, eliminating the need for the Galaxy Store.

Samsung is redesigning the Good Lock app in addition to the new distribution channels. The upgrade will concentrate on enhancing the user interface as a whole, making it simpler for consumers to locate and control their customisation choices. Users will be able to better arrange their settings and preferences with the addition of a new “My Page” option. Additionally, there will be a filter function to make it easier for users to locate particular Good Lock apps.

Even though Good Lock has been there for a long, its functionality with OneUI 7 will be altered in the next version. More customising choices will be available as several Good Lock apps that weren’t previously compatible with the system will be modified to run on the most recent version of Samsung’s software.
