Earlier this year, Nothing launched a community initiative with the goal of creating a Nothing Phone (2a) that was co-designed with its members. The project is finally finished, and on the 30th of this month, a unique edition known as the Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition will be released.
The appearance, packaging box, fresh wallpapers, and marketing campaign are the four key ways why the Community Edition is different from the original Phone (2a).
The phone’s rear design is where the biggest change can be found. Its glow-in-the-dark design, which makes use of phosphorescence, is, to put it mildly, somewhat unusual for smartphones.
The limited edition gadget also includes custom wallpapers. It is said to create a distinctive, multi-layered, and rich process by combining hand-drawn materials with a range of tools for sketching, digitalising, AI-generating, and post-editing. The finished product gives the Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition a fresh appearance while adhering to Nothing’s design language.
Additionally, the packaging box has a new design that matches the phone’s new colour. In addition to the colour, the company claims that the new packaging package features an intriguing visual shift since it only displays one camera lens rather than two.
However, the Community Edition device’s internal hardware doesn’t change. Here is a summary of Nothing Phone (2a)’s specifications for people who are not familiar with it.
Nothing Phone (2a) specifications:
The phone has a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen on the front that can reach 700 nits when used manually, 1100 nits in bright light, and 1300 nits when HDR is playing. It is more than sufficient for all the various conditions, even though it isn’t the greatest that the price tag has to offer.
The phone’s 5000 mAh battery, 45W rapid charging, and Mediatek Dimensity 7200 Pro (4 nm) chip power it.
The phone has two 50MP cameras on the back: a 1/2.76′′ ultrawide and a 1/1.56′′ primary sensor with OIS. A 32MP selfie camera is located on the front.
