Actor Noah Schnapp, best known for his portrayal of Will Byers in the hit television series Stranger Things, has come out as gay.
On TikTok, he posted a video with the caption, “When I finally informed my friends and family I was homosexual after being afraid in the closet for 18 years, all they said was “we know”.” The music on the TikTok was programmed to say, “You know what it never was? That grave. Never was it that serious. In all honesty, it won’t ever be that serious.
On the popular Netflix science fiction series, the actor portrays Will Byers, a closeted gay character. Mike, Will’s best buddy, and Will are secretly in love (Finn Wolfhard). Schnapp references Will’s sexuality in the TikTok caption, writing, “I guess I’m more similar to Will than I thought.”
Will takes a heartfelt moment to confess his love to Mike in the penultimate episode of season four, volume two, although he pretends to be speaking from Eleven’s (Millie Bobby Brown) perspective rather than his own. Without mentioning that he is speaking about himself, he informs Mike that El has felt adrift without Mike nearby and that she feels unlike other people.
