Official launch of the much awaited Gurkha SUV 5-door model has occurred at Force Motors. Bookings for the car, which is expected to be on sale in India in May 2024, have opened, providing buyers with more choices. A new Gurkha 3-door variant is also available. New Gurkha deliveries will begin around the middle of May 2024.
Enhanced Shape and Size:
A number of improvements are included in the new Force Gurkha 5-door, such as larger dimensions, updated external and interior design, and a more powerful diesel engine. With a wheelbase of 2,825mm as opposed to the 3-door model’s 2,400mm, the Force Gurkha 5-door has larger dimensions than its 3-door version.
Its taller height of 2,296mm (with roof carrier) or 2,095mm (without) allows it to accommodate up to seven passengers while providing more headroom and overall space. For better mobility, its turning radius has also been increased to 6.3 meters. Additionally, the vehicle’s gross weight has been increased to 3,125 kg, which improves its toughness.
The Gurkha 5-door’s exterior features the recognizable circular LED headlamps, which are supplemented by DRLs and a unique two-slat front grille. Redesigned 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, squared wheel arches, a solid black bumper, and a spare wheel positioned at the back with a ladder for roof access are some of the standout features. Four exterior colors are available for customers to choose from: Green, Red, White, and Black.
The Gurkha 5-door adds a second row of seats with updated upholstery inside the interior. There are bench seats in the second row and captain’s seats in the third.
A manual air conditioner with rear vents set on the roof, power windows, a digital driver display unit, and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility are among the technological changes. For added piece of mind, safety features include dual airbags, 3-point seat belts, an ABS system, a reverse camera, and TPMS.
Strong Performance:
The Force Gurkha 5-door’s 2.6-liter, 4-cylinder diesel engine, which is derived from Mercedes, produces 140 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. It has a 5-speed manual transmission and auto start/stop feature for increased fuel efficiency. The basic 4×4 transmission, including a low-range transfer case and manually locking front and rear differentials, will be appreciated by off-road fans.
A three-year/1.5-lakh comprehensive warranty that includes roadside assistance and four complimentary services will be provided for the Force Gurkha 5-door. It is expected to compete in the market with the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and the new Thar 5-door, with a starting price of approximately Rs 16 lakhs.
