On Friday, January 3, the Monona Grove girls basketball team defeated the Norskies 56-47 at Monona Grove High School after falling behind 25-24 at the half and making four 3-pointers in the second half.

With 16 points, sophomore Addy Schmudlach led MG and made three 3-pointers in the victory. In the second half, Schmudlach made two three-pointers.

Danielle Becker, a junior, scored twelve points. Becker finished with 10 points in the second half, including two 3-pointers.

Sydney Glynn, a junior, contributed 11 points, while Dani Witte, a sophomore, scored 10 points to reach double figures. Freshman Mikayla McQueeney scored two points, while senior Kaylyn McQueeney scored five.

Monona Grove is 2-3 in the Badger Large Conference and 4-3 overall.

Monona Grove 73, Neenah 70

Danielle Becker, who plays for the Monona Grove girls’ basketball team, has always had a talent for making clutch shots.

In the second half of the Silver Eagles’ narrow victory over DeForest in the regional final as a freshman, Becker made three 3-pointers.

In overtime versus Waunakee as a sophomore, Becker made the game-winning 3-pointer with five seconds remaining.

At JustAGame Fieldhouse in the Wisconsin Dells on Monday, December 30, MG defeated Neenah 73-70 thanks to a 3-pointer from the junior guard with 1.5 seconds remaining.

Becker made four 3-pointers in the victory and finished the game with 19 points. Addy Schmudlach, a sophomore, scored a game-high 29 points. In the first half, Schmudlach scored fifteen points.

Sydney Glynn, a junior, scored 18 points, reaching double figures as well. Senior Kaylyn McQueeney scored two points, while sophomore Bailey Nelson scored five.

Waunakee 46, Monona Grove 36

On Friday, December 20, Waunakee High School defeated the Monona Grove girls basketball team 46-36.

Sydney Glynn, a junior, scored seven points, while sophomore Dani Witte led the team with eight.

Six points were scored by sophomore Addy Schmudlach, five by sophomore Kora Glynn and freshman Mikayla McQueeney, three by junior Danielle Becker, and two by junior Jessica Poels.
