The C 63 S E Performance, Mercedes-AMG’s newest model, is priced at ₹1.95 crore (ex-showroom) in India. The company’s Formula One branch served as its inspiration.
The S 63 E Performance and GT 63 S E Performance, AMG’s first two plug-in hybrids in India this year, were unveiled barely months before to the debut.
Reservations for the new vehicle are now being accepted, and delivery will begin in April 2025.
The four-wheeler packs a powerful hybrid powertrain
A 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine that generates 476 horsepower and 545 Nm of torque powers the C 63 S E Performance.
It is connected to an electric motor positioned on the back axle that produces up to 204 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque.
An amazing 680 horsepower and a tremendous torque of more than 1,000 Nm are the highest combined output.
It features F1-derived technology and advanced driving systems
A technique from Formula One, the C 63 S E Performance’s turbocharger uses an electric motor that is powered by a 400V electrical system. The turbine can spool more quickly because to this configuration.
The 4Matic+ system provides power to all four wheels and has a drift mode.
With the standard AMG Driver’s Package, the car can reach a high speed of 280 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds.
The vehicle offers limited electric-only driving range
The 6.1kWh, 89kg battery pack that powers the plug-in hybrid sports sedan allows the C 63 to travel up to 13km on electricity alone.
Eight drive modes—Electric, Comfort, Battery Hold, Sport, Sport+, RACE, Slippery, and Individual—as well as Mercedes’ three-level adaptive damping system—Comfort, Sport, and Sport+—are also included with the vehicle.
It boasts AMG-specific design changes
AMG-specific design modifications are present in the C 63 S E Performance, such as vertically slatted grille bearing active shutters that open and close in response to the engine’s cooling needs.
Redesigned front and back bumpers have expanded the car’s overall length by 83mm, and the front wheel arches have made it 76mm wider than the typical C-Class sedan.
Additionally, it comes with lightweight 20-inch alloy wheels by default.
The car offers extensive customization options
For the C 63 S E Performance, Mercedes also offers a wide range of personalisation choices, including premium paint choices like Matt Graphite Grey Magno.
Instead of the typical vented and perforated metal brakes, buyers can opt for ceramic high-performance composite brakes.
An AMG-specific steering wheel, vented sports seats in nappa leather, carbon fibre inside trim, and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and head-up display are all standard on the all-black interior.
It competes with BMW M4 CS, Porsche Panamera GTS
Other high-performance vehicles such as the larger Porsche Panamera GTS (₹2.34 crore) and the recently released BMW M4 CS (₹1.89 crore) compete with the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance. This marks Mercedes-Benz’s final introduction of the year in India.
