Heidi Nicolle is a Los Angeles based Instagram blogger @heidiisms. Today I spoke with Heidi to go behind the brand and get an insight into the world of social media bloggers.
What is something about you that the many people who follow you don’t know?
I guess you could say I had a kinda Cinderella Story in a career since although the “career” glass slipper never really fit even since college. I went to school to be a lawyer although realized the slipper wasn’t a perfect fit. Luckily, some friends & I formed a successful start-up although moving from NH, to MA, to DC and then SF all while working 60 plus hour weeks I once again felt the glass slipper didn’t fit. I did the hardest thing ever but walked away from a Guaranteed future to the unknown.
I was now in LA with no clue what I wanted to do. I started looking outside of myself and started helping others. Eventually, it grew to build a brand & blog about LA and then that eventually took me to grow Heidiisms, a brand all about believing in yourself.
It has been 3 years but I wouldn’t change my story for the world because I found MY true happiness.
What is the best part about living in Los Angeles?
Growing up in New England, I would definitely say not having to shovel, plow and drive in the snow. Also, never really having to check the weather is pretty amazing too
What is the worst part about living in Los Angeles?
Traffic and pollution. I am currently raising awareness about Santa Susana Field Laboratory and looking to partner with some business to help get some very toxic land here cleaned up. Please feel free to reach out to me if you would like to get involved!!
What does a typical week look like for you?
I try to plan my week out a little in advance but creating photoshoot concepts, editing, attending events, emails, and DMs… oh my.. haha! I try to always work every day. I don’t normally take days off. Waking up early helps tremendously, especially in LA and creating. If you can awake before the city it makes for the best shots!!
What goals do you have for 2020?
They are currently on my Vision Board in my office. I definitely have a part type A personality and the other part free spirit (yes, I’m a Gemini)!! Some of my goals include starting TikTok and Streamlining my LiveStreaming!!
What is the best part about being a blogger?
Being able to bring experiences to others and being able to create visions in my mind to share with my community and well, the world.
What is the worst part about being a blogger?
Some of the negativity of online although I try to avoid it. Also, seeing people always comparing. It’s great to be inspired but remembers loves you are magical for YOU!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
I never answer these because no one really knows but I know I will always be growing and sharing!!
