Senior Deca Burr of Warren East led the visiting Lady Raiders to an 8-0 victory over District 15 opponent Glasgow on Tuesday, scoring her second hat trick in as many days.

After scoring five goals in Tuesday’s victory against Glasgow, Burr, who led the state in goals scored the previous season with sixty-two, has now netted eight goals in two games this season.

For the Lady Raiders, Abbie Rigsby contributed two goals and an assist, Kamryn Deel scored a goal, and Dayeli Mendez and Maggie Rigsby both had an assist.

The shutout was maintained by goalkeeper Catherine Amos for Warren East (2-0 overall, 1-0 District 15), who will travel Franklin-Simpson on Monday.

Russell County welcomes Glasgow (0-1, 0-1) on Thursday.

Tuesday’s 7-0 victory over Monroe County by visiting Franklin-Simpson was led by two goals each from Kaylee Barrow and Lily Tyree.

For the Lady Wildcats, Addy McKinney contributed a goal and an assist. In the victory, MacKenzie Davidson and Lilly Ferguson each scored one goal, and Jasmine Grover provided an assist.

Franklin-Simpson (2-0) will play Warren Central on Thursday. Goalie Madison Slate finished with five saves to secure the shutout.

ACS 0; Barren County 5,

Tuesday, Shelby Byrd scored three goals and recorded a hat trick to lead visiting Barren County over District 15 opponent Allen County-Scottsville 5-0.

For the Trojanettes, Laney Lockhart and Lizzie Smith both added a goal.

Muhlenberg County visits Barren County (1-1, 1-0) on Thursday.

On Thursday, ACS (0-1, 0-1) plays Russellville at home.

Boys’ football ACS 0 Warren East 8

Senior Steven Rodriguez of Warren East led the host Raiders to an 8-0 victory over District 15 opponent Allen County-Scottsville on Tuesday in the boys’ football season opener. Rodriguez finished with three goals and two assists.

Ryan Balance, Jereme Lee, Adoraim Rodriguez, and Hunter Abney each scored one goal, while Hayden Talley contributed one goal and an assist. For the victory, Aiden Quarles added an assist.

The shutout was maintained by goalie Eric Payne, who finished with two saves for Warren East (1-0, 1-0), who will visit district rival Glasgow on Thursday.

Russellville hosts ACS (0-2, 0-1) on Thursday.

Butler County 0, Russellville 4, 0

In Tuesday’s season-opening 4-0 victory over Butler County, homestanding Russellville was led by two goals from Diego Vera.

For the Panthers, JaCoveon Temple-Dickerson and Riley Hatfield each scored one goal, Ethan O’Neal recorded two assists, and Samuel Cruz also contributed an assist.

The shutout was earned by goalie Noah Harris of Russellville (1-0), who hosts Allen County-Scottsville on Thursday. Harris made five saves.

On Thursday, Butler County (1-1) takes on Grayson County, a competitor in District 11.
