In addition to the already-available PDF format, Google Drive now allows users to save scanned documents as JPEGs.
Google revealed this update in a Workspace Updates page.
The internet behemoth clarified that all Google Workspace subscribers, clients, and users with personal Google accounts will have access to this facility.
Feature rollout and accessibility
Users on the Scheduled Release and Rapid Release domains are presently receiving the new feature.
Google expects it to be available on both the iOS and Android operating systems in the next fifteen days.
Because scanned documents are smaller than PDFs and may be shared with others more easily, this upgrade attempts to streamline the uploading procedure.
Additional tools in the new update
Additionally, users now have direct access to other tools including text visibility-improving filters, choices for eliminating stains or fingers that may have appeared in the document, and automatic capturing and cropping. These features are included in the most recent scanner update.
