Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is all set to launch the brand-new Camry hybrid in the Indian market on December 11, 2024. The latest iteration of the Toyota Camry, now in its ninth generation globally, comes with significant upgrades to its design, features, and technology. Locally assembled, the 2025 Camry hybrid will bring several fresh enhancements to Indian roads.
The new-generation Camry will enter the market without any direct rivals, although the arrival of the new Skoda Superb in 2025 may stir competition. Toyota had globally unveiled this updated Camry in November 2023, introducing it to the Singaporean market in August, making Singapore the first Southeast Asian country to receive the revamped model.
Currently priced at ₹46.20 lakh (ex-showroom) in India, the Camry hybrid could see a price increase with the launch of this updated version. Measuring 4,920 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, and 1,455 mm in height, the sedan offers a spacious 2,825 mm wheelbase and a boot capacity of 500 liters. Platinum White Pearl Mica, Silver Metallic, Precious Metal, Attitude Black Mica, Emotional Red 3, Precious Bronze, and Dark Blue Mica are among the nine eye-catching paint colors that the Camry is offered in Globally.
Inside, the cabin is offered in three elegant color schemes: Fromage, Black, and Yellow Brown. The exterior design has been refreshed with a sharper front profile, featuring sleek LED headlights, C-shaped LED daytime running lights, and matching C-shaped tail lamps. Additionally, it sports reworked front and rear bumpers, redesigned air intakes, and updated 18-inch alloy wheels.
The Camry hybrid is powered by a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine combined with an electric motor. While the gasoline engine delivers 185 hp at 6,000 rpm and 221 Nm of torque between 3,200 and 5,200 rpm, the electric motor produces 134 hp and 208 Nm of torque. Together, the hybrid system generates a total output of 228 hp, channeled to the front wheels through an e-CVT transmission. The hybrid sedan offers a top speed of 180 km/h and a fuel efficiency of 19.6 km/l.
Packed with features, the new Camry includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a nine-speaker JBL audio system, and three-zone automatic climate control. Other notable features include three driving modes, a digital instrument cluster, a head-up display (HUD), advanced ADAS functionalities, powered front seats, paddle shifters, leather upholstery, and eight airbags, ensuring a premium and safe driving experience.
