Cricket World Cup matches will be aired on Doordarshan’s Free Dish platform. On Monday, Prasar Bharati declared that the T20 World Cup, which is taking place in the USA and the West Indies, will be shown on the DD Free Dish platform.

Doordarshan will broadcast a schedule of important international sporting events in the world after its high-profile coverage of the T20 World Cup.

This includes live/deferred live and highlights of the Paris Olympics Games 2024 (July 26 to August 11), Paris Paralympic Games (August 28- September 8), International Cricket Series between India Vs Zimbabwe (July 6 to July 14) and India Vs Sri Lanka (July 27 to August 7) and women’s and men’s finals of the French Open 2024 (June 8 and 9) and Wimbledon 2024 (July 13, 14).

Gaurav Dwivedi, the CEO of Prasar Bharati, made the statement during a press conference in this country’s capital.

A special T20 World Cup anthem, “Jazba,” was introduced during the conversation. Sukhwinder Singh is the singer of it.

The renowned storyteller Neelesh Misra provided the narration for a promotional video that the Secretary also unveiled for the grand T20 tournament.

In order to feature various sports leagues and properties on its sports channel, Prasar Bharati is currently in the advanced stages of discussions with several sports bodies and agencies.

“We will be updating the media as and when we firm up these partnerships,” Dwivedi explained.

He also briefed the group on the detailed preparations that Doordarshan and All India Radio had made for Tuesday’s counting.

DD Sports organised and broadcast several multisport competitions across the nation last year.

The feed for these games was shared with the nation’s top private networks, including Star Sports, Jio Cinema, and Sony Network, in addition to being shown on DD Sports.

The men’s and women’s cricket matches from the Hangzhou Asian Games in China were broadcast on the World Feed by the Doordarshan team. The DD team’s global feed from ground zero was broadcast on television in several Asian nations.

During the Indian Cricket Team’s August 2023 trip of the West Indies, Doordarshan held the rights to broadcast linear television on all platforms. The stream of the limited-over matches played in the series was produced in regional languages including Bhojpuri, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, and Kannada in addition to English and Hindi commentary. These feeds were televised on several regional stations of Doordarshan Network.

Leading international sports organisations like the NBA and PGTA have come to an agreement with Doordarshan so that their content can be shown on DD Sports. According to a release, DD Sports Channel broadcasts NBA 2K League contests, a well-liked e-sports franchise.
