On Thursday, the latest operating system (OS) for the Oppo and OnePlus smartphones, ColorOS 15, was revealed. The upgrade, which is based on the most recent version of Android 15, adds new themes, realistic animations, and improved visual components with texture interpretation. Thanks to the O+ connectivity software, it also makes file transfers between Oppo and iPhone models simple. In addition to utilising its on-screen awareness features, ColorOS 15 allows users to engage in natural language conversations with its Xiaobu assistant, which incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) elements.
ColorOS 15 Features
Oppo explained that ColorOS 15 has a redesigned user interface (UI) with new iconography, dynamic effects, and natural light and shadow components. It enhances multitasking by running app animations concurrently using the Aurora and Tidal Engines. According to the firm, its most recent version improves app responsiveness by 18% and speeds up app installations by 26% thanks to optimisations.
The O+ connectivity software, which facilitates file transfers between Oppo devices and iPhone models, is another noteworthy addition. In only a few seconds, users can share documents, films, and images.
AI features are also included in ColorOS 15. This includes the addition of new features to its Xiaobu assistant, which can now converse and comprehend natural language. It can also answer to queries, recognise content on the screen, and offer suggestions like plans for trips. While the document scanner has translation and summarisation capabilities, the Notes app has the ability to format and summarise content. Additionally, Oppo has enabled AI capabilities in the voice recorder, allowing it to summarise and transcribe recordings.
The Photos app also has AI capabilities. According to Oppo, consumers may now benefit from features like image upscaling, portrait blur reduction, and one-touch person and reflection removal. Moreover, Live Photos now supports electronic image stabilisation (EIS).
Additional features of ColorOS 15 include automatic OTP deletion, reversible picture album editing, distinct notification and control centres, and new gestures for the smart floating window.
ColorOS 15 Release Timeline, Compatible Models
According to Oppo, ColorOS 15 will be pre-installed on the OnePlus 13 and forthcoming Find X8 series in China.
