An exclusive song is dedicated by Chris Martin to Jasprit Bumrah at Coldplay’s concert

Jasprit Bumrah was spotted attending the Coldplay concert in Ahmedabad on Sunday, January 26, and appeared to be thoroughly enjoying himself at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The Indian pacer, currently sidelined from the national team due to a back injury, joined thousands of fans for the band’s second show in the city, where he received a warm reception from the crowd. The evening took an exciting turn when Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin, acknowledged Bumrah in the audience, earning cheers from the attendees.

In a special tribute to the cricketer, the British band performed a few lines dedicated to him, humorously reflecting on his impressive performances against England in cricket. “O Jasprit Bumrah, my beautiful brother. The greatest bowler in all of cricket. We did not enjoy watching you destroy England, wicket after wicket,” the band sang, much to the delight of the fans. Adding to the moment, Bumrah’s signed Test jersey was displayed on stage, a fitting homage to the star bowler at his home ground in Ahmedabad.

This wasn’t the first time Coldplay had mentioned Bumrah during their India tour. Currently, Bumrah is recovering from a back injury sustained during the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. While he was excluded from India’s T20I and ODI squads for the England series, he is expected to regain fitness in time for the Champions Trophy starting February 19. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar has indicated that Bumrah’s participation in the group stages of the ICC tournament will depend on his recovery progress. For now, the pacer is enjoying a well-deserved break, making the most of his downtime away from cricket.
