Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is the third Netflix series to surpass 1 billion hours viewed in its first 60 days, joining Squid Game and Stranger Things 4.
The serial killer series created by Ryan Murphy spent seven weeks in 92 countries on the Netflix Global Top 10. Just behind Stranger Things 4, it is currently the second most popular English-language television show on Netflix. The streamer’s most-watched TV show ever is still Squid Game.
To put things in perspective, 1.35 billion hours of Stranger Things 4 and 1.65 billion hours of Squid Game were watched in its first month.
Following the success of Dahmer, Netflix placed an order for two more installments of his Monster franchise in November. The streamer said, “tell the stories of other monstrous figures who have impacted society,” but did not specify what the two additional episodes of the Monster anthology franchise would cover.
Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story stars Evan Peters portrays the notorious serial killer. The ten-part series examines the police incompetence and apathy that enabled the Wisconsin native to go on a multiyear killing spree extensively from the victims’ perspectives.
