BTS performed ‘Life Goes On’ with a hologram version of member Suga recently (December 6).
The Korean band gave a three-song performance at the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) 2020, where they additionally brought home eight awards.
During most recent single ‘Life Goes On’, the last tune of the set, a hologram of rapper Suga joined his six bandmates. He showed up through a gateway not long before his verse, staying in front of an audience with the group until the song’s end.
The hologram was made through volumetric showcase, which records an individual, area or performance in 360-degrees and afterward assembles a 3D symbol that moves and can be seen from all points.
For the remainder of the set, BTS proceeded as a six-piece, conveying a fireworks-accompanied rendition of ‘Dynamite’ just as a yearning version of ‘ON’, which showed up on their February 2020 album ‘Map Of The Soul: 7’.
The last was pre-recorded at Seoul’s World Cup Stadium.
Suga couldn’t perform with the band face to face as he is at present recovering from a surgery on an old shoulder injury. In November, the band’s mark Big Hit Entertainment affirmed the rapper would sit out of “most” promotional activities around their new album ‘BE’.
BTS brought home every one of the four of MAMA 2020’s grand prizes – Artist Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Album Of The Year and Worldwide Icon Of The Year. Somewhere else, they won Best Male Group, Worldwide Fans’ Choice, Best Music Video and Best Dance Performance (Male Group) for ‘Dynamite’.
Their album ‘BE’ was delivered a month ago (November) and was awarded four stars in an review from NME. “Much of ‘BE’ finds the band trying to find something to cling onto, clutching at small moments of happiness wherever it can find them,” the review read.
“When NME spoke to the world-conquering band in August, RM said they were “eager to comfort and give joy to people through our music and performance more than ever”. Mission well done.
