Tesla has officially started delivering the refreshed Model Y “Launch Edition” in the U.S., as shared by some of the first customers over the weekend.
On Sunday, Jim Koehler, an X user, posted pictures and some information about his experience receiving the new Model Y in Knoxville, Tennessee. As seen in the pictures, Koehler accepted a Stealth Grey Launch Series unit, and a few more details regarding his experience are highlighted in another topic in the Tesla Motors Club site.
According to Koehler, he ordered the car on January 23 and by February 11 it was expected to arrive between February 19 and March 19. However, as of Saturday, Koehler formally took up the so-called Model Y “Juniper,” and that had been changed to between March 1 and March 8.

According to a Reddit thread, Tesla’s updated Model Y was also seen over the weekend in the Palisades parking lot in Tahoe, California. Although the vehicle is visible in white below, sitting in the middle of a snowy scene, it is now unclear if it was a customer delivery or an employee vehicle.
The first deliveries to the United States were announced just a few days after Tesla China started selling standard versions of the recently updated Model Y in China last week, replacing the “Launch Edition.” Bonus warranty miles were the main feature of the Launch Edition there, although the standard Model Y was introduced at the same price.
The Launch Series model, which comes with unique badges on the liftgate, puddle light, center console, and doorsill in addition to Supervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) and interior enhancements like vegan suede trim and high-end floor mats, is still available on Tesla’s order configurator in the United States as of this writing.
Drone footage from a few weeks ago shows enormous fleets of the SUV on the outbound lot, indicating that Tesla has also been speeding up manufacturing of the updated Model Y at its Gigafactory in Austin, Texas.
