President Donald Trump posted a video Tuesday night that appeared to be computer-generated graphics, bolstering his lauded vision of a U.S.-supervised, rebuilt Gaza.

Trump AI video from Gaza

As “what’s next” for Gaza, the movie shows a beautiful, beachy resort town studded with skyscrapers adjacent to images of poverty, firearms, and destruction in the so-called Gaza of 2025.

“Trump’s Gaza is finally here,” the slogans of the upbeat, catchy, computer-generated soundtrack below state.

The 33-second video has recurring AI representations of Benjamin Netanyahu, Elon Musk, and Trump.

Children are dancing while money is pouring down at one point.

What is unknown to us:

It’s unknown who made the video and how exactly because Trump shared it without providing any commentary or editorial note. However, considering the imagery’s characteristics, it seems to have been produced by a computer.

Gaza’s Palestinian population

The backstory:

Trump stated that he intended to “empty” Gaza of its more than two million Palestinians, seize control of the region, and establish it as the “Riviera of the Middle East.”

Palestinians have vehemently opposed the thought of leaving, whether it is a serious issue, a ploy, or a diversion.

Overview:

Israel and Hamas are currently in the initial stage of a ceasefire discussion that put an end to 15 months of intense fighting.

In many respects, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict stems from the 1948 war that surrounded the establishment of Israel, in which hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were forced to leave their homes in what is now Israel, and the 1967 war in which Israel took control of Gaza, the West Bank, and east Jerusalem. The Palestinians hope to establish a future state in those areas.

Generative AI: What is it?

Fake AI-generated photos are frequently shared on social media, but many of them—like the most recent Trump video from Gaza—are so ridiculous and cartoonish that even the most unsuspecting viewer would find them hard to believe.

A golden Trump balloon, a big golden Trump statue, and bearded bellydancers are all included in the video.

By providing a set of instructions or inputs, generative artificial intelligence (AI) applications enable users to efficiently create images, videos, or text.

Why it matters:

Often justified as pranks, AI-generated graphics have evolved into effective tools for disseminating misleading, occasionally racist, and obviously political messages.

AI-generated visuals can attract new attention to a political message and have a greater impact due to their hyperrealistic style.

Go further:

To amuse himself and make political points, Trump’s campaign, several supporters have posted phony and frequently absurd photos.
