The 430 Air+, 520 Pro+, and 620 Max trim levels of the GAC-Toyota bZ3X all-electric SUV will go on sale in China on March 3. In December of last year, the pre-sale began, with prices ranging from 100,000 to 200,000 yuan (13,800 to 27,500 USD).
Seven exterior paint colors—two shades of white, grey, silver, black, pink, and gold—are available to consumers. With dimensions of 4600/1875/1645 mm for length, width, and height, and a wheelbase of 2765 mm, the GAC-Toyota bZ3X is positioned as a small SUV.
An NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin X chip powers the vehicle’s Momenta 5.0 advanced driving assistance system (ADAS), which is made possible by 27 sensors, including a lidar, three millimeter-wave radars, twelve ultrasonic radars, and eleven high-definition cameras. A pre-collision system, blind spot monitoring, remote parking, an emergency driving stop system, traffic light assistance, lane departure assistance, and lane change assistance are just a few of the 25 features that the ADAS offers without the need for a map.
A front electric motor (type TZ175XSAY501) that can produce up to 150 kW (201 horsepower) provides the power. The three capacities of the lithium iron phosphate battery packs—50.03 kWh, 58 kWh, and 67.9 kWh—each translate into a 430 km, 520 km, and 610 km CLTC cruising range, respectively. It takes twenty-four minutes to charge the battery from thirty to eighty percent. Ten hours are needed for slow charging.
When it comes to the interior, there are three colour options: orange, black, and beige. An 8.8-inch LCD instrument panel, a 14.6-inch floating central control screen, a dual-color multifunction steering wheel, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 CPU that supports speech recognition and OTA updates are all part of the cockpit’s layered dashboard.
Additional features include a panoramic sunroof, eleven Yamaha speakers, seven airbags, 32-color ambient lighting, wireless charging for cell phones, and a foldable rear armrest for the back seats.
The GAC-Toyota joint venture sold 770,100 cars in 2024, a 14.5% decrease from 2023’s sales of 901,000 cars. Sales of its smart plug-in hybrid vehicles, which now make up 48% of overall sales, have climbed among its models. To increase sales in China, the joint venture intends to introduce the bZ3X and the bZ7 all-electric sedan in 2025.
