The upcoming historical drama Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar, is set to captivate audiences with its gripping tale and stellar cast. Starring Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, and Suniel Shetty, the film is scheduled to release in theaters on February 14, promising an epic cinematic experience.

On Tuesday, the makers of Chhaava unveiled the first-look character posters of Akshaye Khanna as the formidable Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Production house Maddock Films shared the posters on social media, introducing Khanna as “the new face of fear and terror,” emphasizing his portrayal of the ruthless ruler of the Mughal Empire.

Akshaye Khanna’s transformation for the role is striking and intense. In the character posters, he exudes authority and menace, with tousled hair, a heavy grey beard, and kohl-lined eyes that create a fierce and commanding presence. He is adorned in intricately embroidered royal attire, complemented by ornate pearl-studded necklaces, capturing the grandeur and aura of Aurangzeb with impeccable detail.

Chhaava is based on the life of the revered Maratha king, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, and is an adaptation of Shivaji Sawant’s acclaimed Marathi novel Chhava. Rashmika Mandanna portrays Maharani Yesubai, bringing depth to the story with her role as the queen. The ensemble cast also includes seasoned actors like Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, and Suniel Shetty, adding gravitas to the film.

Produced by Dinesh Vijan, the film is elevated by a musical score composed by the legendary Oscar-winning musician A.R. Rahman, ensuring a rich auditory experience to accompany the visual splendor.

Akshaye Khanna, last seen in the 2022 crime thriller Drishyam 2 alongside Ajay Devgn and Tabu, is poised to impress audiences once again with his powerful portrayal in Chhaava. With another project titled Dhurandhar also in the pipeline, the 49-year-old actor continues to explore diverse roles.

With its compelling narrative, star-studded cast, and Rahman’s soul-stirring music, Chhaava promises to be a grand cinematic spectacle that will enthrall audiences when it hits screens this Valentine’s Day.
