Hyundai has increased anticipation among auto aficionados by revealing some of the electric Creta’s primary specifications ahead of its January 17, 2025, unveiling. Modern V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) technology, a redesigned three-spoke steering wheel, and dual-zone climate control are all features of the electric Creta. Additionally, it will have a digital key function that will allow easy access to the car using a smartphone or smartwatch. The SUV will have a cutting-edge i-pedal that lets drivers accelerate, decelerate, and even stop the vehicle with just the accelerator pedal. Shift-by-wire technology also helps the car by enabling seamless, futuristic gear changes.
An complete Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) suite, which includes crucial features like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring, is standard on the electrified Creta. In addition, it features a 360-degree camera, a tire pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors and six airbags (standard).
Hyundai Creta Electric: Battery and Charging
The two battery options for the electric Creta are 42kWh (390km range) and 51.4kWh (473km range), as Hyundai has already disclosed. The corporation has now revealed performance numbers for each version, which has increased the enthusiasm. A 133bhp electric motor situated on the front axle will be paired with the 42kWh battery, while the 51.4kWh model will have a more potent 167bhp motor—more potent than the Creta N Line’s 158bhp motor. The long-range model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in an exhilarating 7.9 seconds.
The larger 51.4kWh battery can be fully charged in four hours with the Creta Electric’s 11kW AC charger. Additionally, there is a DC fast charger that can charge the SUV from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes. Convenience is increased with the myHyundai app, which gives users remote control over the charging process and the ability to start, stop, and schedule charging sessions.
Hyundai Creta Electric: Exterior and Interior
With a few significant exceptions, the electric Creta shares many design elements with its ICE cousin. These include a front bumper with active air flaps that improve cooling efficiency and aerodynamics, as well as a grille with a pixelated pattern designed specifically for EVs. Along with a charging outlet that is ingeniously built into the grille, the electric Creta also features pillars, ORVMs, a blacked-out top, and the Hyundai symbol. The electric Creta comes in eight single-tone hues, including three matte and five metallic, and features aerodynamically designed 17-inch alloy wheels.
Along with a number of other additional convenience features, the electric Creta’s interior is upgraded with a new 3-spoke steering wheel and centre console. The ability for drivers to pay for the vehicle’s charging straight from the infotainment screen is one notable improvement. Additional features include an 8-speaker Bose sound system, ventilated front seats, and twin 10.25-inch displays that combine a touchscreen infotainment system and a digital driver’s display.
