Abbie Stockard, a nursing student at Auburn University and the reigning Miss Alabama, has been crowned Miss America.

During the Miss America pageant in Orlando, which took place from December 31 to January 5, Stockard was one of 11 finalists. In total, 52 people participated, representing all 50 states as well as Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.

The realisation on Sunday night is the pinnacle of a dream realised.

After beginning her freshman year at Auburn, she competed for three years before winning the title of Miss Alabama 2024. Titles such as Miss Cahaba Valley 2021, Miss Trussville 2022, and Miss Hoover 2023 were awarded to Stockard during her voyage.

Her passion for nursing stems from a heart of compassion and a desire to serve others. “I believe that I have a heart of compassion and empathy, and I am at my personal best when I am serving others,” she explains.

The Miss America website explained that Stockard will be given a $50,000 scholarship.

Stockard’s personal responsibilities include serving as a student recruiter and a member of the Auburn University Tiger Paws Dance Team.
