In September 2024, Mercedes-Benz India introduced the EQS 580 electric SUV. The business has now declared that the EQS 450 e-SUV will be on sale on January 9, 2025. With the same 122kWh battery pack, the EQS 450 is basically the EQS 580 with five seats. With a 200kW DC charger, this battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 31 minutes, making it the biggest cell capacity of any passenger EV in the nation.

The EQS 480 will share the same design and have a black panel grille that is blanked off and extends into the front bumper’s lower half. Additionally, LED headlamps that span the width of the vehicle are connected. It has full-width LED tail lamps in the back, and aside from a few small adjustments, the rear profile resembles that of the Maybach EQS.

Inside, a Mercedes Hyperscreen system is anticipated to be installed, which includes a 17.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 12.3-inch front passenger screen and a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster. A 15-speaker Burmester sound system, five-zone climate control, Level 2 ADAS, nine airbags, puddle lamps, illuminated running boards, dual 11.6-inch rear entertainment screens, soft-close doors, and much more are anticipated features.

A total of 544 horsepower and 858 Nm of peak torque are produced by the battery pack and two electric motors. The 4Matic AWD technology distributes power to all four wheels, and the manufacturer explained that the EV SUV could accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 4.7 seconds. The new 5-seat model, which weighs less, may have a greater range than the 7-seat EQS 580, which has an ARAI-certified range of 809 kilometres on a single charge.
