Christopher Nolan and Robert Pattinson are reuniting for the director’s much-anticipated and much-discussed upcoming feature film project.

In addition to Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, and Zendaya, the actor, who played in Nolan’s 2020 sci-fi thriller Tenet, now joins a stellar cast.

Universal Pictures will distribute the film, which Nolan is directing and wrote the script for. The release date has been established by the studio for July 17, 2026.

Even less plot or logline elements are published in Nolan’s most recent picture than the notoriously private director typically does. The project has been the subject of several conceivable, even conflicting, ideas, such as a helicopter action thriller or a historical vampire thriller, but sources insist that none of them have accurately captured Nolan’s original concept.

The main leads of the feature are Pattinson, Holland, Hathaway, and Damon. According to reports, Zendaya and Nyong’o play supporting parts.

Alongside his wife and collaborator, Emma Thomas, the director is producing under the Syncopy name. There are plans to shoot in the first half of 2025.

Pattinson costarred with John David Washington in Nolan’s final Warner Bros. film, Tenet.
