On November 12, Mercedes-Benz India is scheduled to introduce its newest product, the AMG C 63 S E Performance.
The new generation car, which will be positioned above the C43 in the manufacturer’s lineup, is modelled after Formula 1 cars.
In place of a V8 engine, it has a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with an electric motor located in the back.
A look at its performance
With 475 horsepower from the four-cylinder engine and an additional 205 horsepower from the electric motor, the AMG C 63 S E Performance boasts an incredible 680 horsepower.
Additionally, the vehicle has a 400V electrical system-powered turbocharger with an integrated electric motor.
This state-of-the-art technology, which was borrowed from Mercedes’ Formula One car, helps the turbine spool up more quickly for improved performance.
Advanced design and features
All-wheel drive and a nine-speed multi-clutch automatic gearbox are standard on the AMG C 63 S E Performance.
Additionally, it has four-wheel steering, which allows the back wheels to turn up to 2.5 degrees in the opposite direction from the front wheels (up to 100 km/h) or up to 0.7 degrees in the same direction at higher speeds.
Wider front wheel arches than the standard C-Class, larger wheels that are available, and the recognisable AMG grille with active shutters that change according on engine cooling requirements are all hallmarks of its look.
Interior and pricing
The AMG C 63 S E Performance’s interior features a big touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster, just like the regular C-Class.
It also sports a steering wheel designed specifically for AMG and an all-black motif.
The C43, which presently retails for ₹98.25 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom), is a step up from the upcoming model, which is expected to cost between ₹1.3 and 1.4 crore.
