Demonic Heads to OTT: The English Horror Movie Release Date and Platform

In 2021, filmmaker Neil Blomkamp, best known for the District film series and a master of science fiction films, made a comeback with Demonic, a masterful blend of horror and science fiction. But after three long years, Demonic will shortly make its Lionsgate Play debut in India this Halloween.

Just six days before Halloween, which is October 31, 2024, the English horror sci-fi movie Demonic will be available on Lionsgate Play for over-the-top (OTT) streaming in India on October 25. The film is also accessible on OTTplay Premium. Carly Pope, Chris William Martin, Michael J. Rogers, Nathalie Boltt, Terry Chen, and Kandyse McClure are among the ensemble cast members of the movie.

Demonic plot overview

The movie tells the story of Carly (Carly Pope), a young lady who unintentionally wakes a terrible spirit that has been dormant for generations because she is still troubled by the tension from her mother’s decades-long battle with her grandmother.

Carly learns the terrifying truth that their animosity is a manifestation of supernatural forces that have been controlling their lives rather than merely a personal conflict as she digs deeper into the sinister truths of her maternal family’s past. Carly’s world falls apart with every new discovery, and she finds herself embroiled in a horrifying conflict with the ancient monsters that stand to devour her and her loved ones.

Neil Blomkamp’s experience in making Demonic

The 45-year-old director spoke highly about his experience directing Demonic back in 2021. He explained that the Covid pandemic inspired him to create this kind of movie. “The idea came from a very unusual and weird process. Because of Covid, I wanted to create something we could put together ourselves and make sense everything else seemed to be on hold. I have always wanted to make my own small horror film”,
