The action-packed drama “Devara,” starring Junior NTR, Jhanvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan, has been making waves at the box office since its release, despite facing a significant drop in collections on its first Monday. After a record-breaking start, the film earned an impressive ₹82.5 crore on its opening day and continued to perform well over the weekend, grossing ₹39.9 crore on Sunday in the Indian market. However, by Monday, September 30, “Devara” experienced a sharp decline in earnings, generating only ₹12.5 crore, which marks a 68% drop from the previous day’s figures.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, “Devara” amassed ₹12.5 crore on its fourth day, with ₹8 crore coming from the Telugu version, ₹4 crore from the Hindi version, ₹0.1 crore from the Kannada release, and another ₹0.1 crore from the Malayalam version. Despite this setback, the film has had an impressive worldwide run, crossing the ₹300 crore mark during its opening weekend. As reported by the filmmakers, the Koratala Siva-directed movie accumulated a total of ₹304 crore globally over the weekend.
The film’s official social media handle shared an enthusiastic post celebrating this achievement, describing “Devara” as a “hurricane” that has swept across the world with its unique style of destruction, establishing itself as a blockbuster hit. The movie’s remarkable weekend performance positioned it as the second-highest grosser globally, surpassing even the popular “Transformers” series.
“Devara” had an exceptional debut, collecting ₹172 crore worldwide on its opening day, according to statements from the production team. By the end of its first weekend, the film had grossed ₹275 crore globally, as reported by Hindustan Times, citing Comscore data. This achievement puts “Devara” just behind “The Wild Robot,” which earned a staggering ₹44 million over the same period.
The movie, presented as a high-energy action drama, is the first installment of a two-part epic set in India’s forgotten coastal regions. Released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, “Devara” has quickly established itself as a force in both the Indian and international box office, making a substantial impact in its debut week.
