The release date of one of Halle Berry’s upcoming movie has been somewhat shifted. An earlier release date than planned is planned for the upcoming Lionsgate horror film Never Let Go due to some significant scheduling changes.

Lionsgate has confirmed that Never Let Go will now debut on September 20, one week sooner than its initial date of September 27 (as reported by Deadline). Wolfs, the upcoming noir comedy starring Brad Pitt and George Clooney, will now have a restricted release, according to Sony and Apple Studios. Additionally, the movie receives extra time before Joker: Folie à Deux, the highly anticipated Warner Bros. R-rated tentpole, opens in theatres on October 4.

Never Let Go observes Berry plays a mother of twin boys whose house has been plagued for years by a malevolent spirit. Berry and her kids have to stay in touch because of the spirit; at one point, they had to bind themselves together with ropes to make sure they never leave each other’s side. But when one of the twins starts to doubt the reality of evil, everything goes horribly wrong, severing everything that ties them together and setting off a horrific struggle for survival.

In May, Lionsgate unveiled the first trailer for Never Let Go, giving viewers a preview of the unexpected horrors her character will encounter. Alexandre Aja, the director of Crawl, directed the film Never Let Go, which was filmed in Vancouver between April and June of last year. Dan Levine, Dan Cohen, Aja, and filmmaker Shawn Levy of Deadpool & Wolverine are among the producers of the movie.

Berry is accustomed to horror films. The renowned actor costarred with Robert Downey Jr. and Penélope Cruz in the 2003 horror film Gothika. Gothika became a box office blockbuster despite receiving bad reviews (15% on Rotten Tomatoes), earning $141.6 million against its $40 million budget. Berry’s next spy action comedy The Union, in which she stars with Mark Wahlberg and is slated to debut on Netflix on August 16, will follow the release of Never Let Go.

Halle Berry has been commemorating the 20th anniversary of Catwoman

Berry has been in the news lately for standing up for her disastrous superhero movie Catwoman, which marked its 20th birthday this July. Speaking out against the negative reception the movie received and the criticism directed at her attire, Berry stated that she wanted to play the role once more despite experiencing “unfair” treatment. Berry starred in and the production of the science fiction movie The Mothership was almost finished when Netflix decided to shelve it.
