On October 11, 2024, Terrifier 3—a Christmas-themed follow-up to the original film—will unleash Art the Clown once more. Director Damien Leone has hinted that the film’s opening scene will satiate those who enjoy a few great genre films. The new film, which is a direct sequel to Terrifier 2, which came out in 2022, will feature Lauren LaVera reprising her roles as villain Victoria Hayes (Samantha Scaffidi) and protagonist Sienna Shaw. As Art the Clown, who vows to wreak havoc on the people of Miles County, David Howard Thornton will apply makeup once more.
Director Damien Leone recently teased what viewers may expect from the movie’s opening minutes on X (previously Twitter), taking a break from editing Terrifier 3, which concluded filming in June and is currently in post-production. He explained that his next sequel, When a Stranger Calls, starring Carol Kane and starring Wes Craven, will be a tremendous treat for lovers of both films.
When a Stranger Calls and Scream both begin with a phone caller being terrorised by an invisible enemy. While Carol Kane made it through her entire film unharmed, Drew Barrymore wasn’t as fortunate; during the first 12 minutes, Ghostface had him chopped to ribbons and dangling from a tree. It’s safe to assume that Art the Clown will take things to a whole new level in the opening moments, given the Terrifier franchise’s reputation for nasty and realistic special effects. It remains to be seen if this is the “horrific scene” that Leone hinted to before, in which David Howard Thornton almost lost his lunch.
Terrifier 3 Features a Who’s Who of Genre Favorites
With the exception of a few cameos from celebrities like WWE superstar Chris Jericho, Felissa Rose from Sleepaway Camp, and Tamara Glynn from Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, the first two Terrifier films starred actors who were comparatively unknown at the time. However, Terrifier 3 is making good use of its larger budget by bringing in more well-known characters from the genre in addition to maintaining the realistic blood and gore that it is known for.
Legendary special effects creator Tom Savini, Daniel Roebuck (The Devil’s Rejects, Rob Zombie’s Halloween), and Jason Patrick (The Lost Boys) are among the new cast members.
