Thanks to its lineup of electric vehicles, which includes the Nexon EV, Punch EV, Tiago EV, and Tigor EV, Tata Motors has taken the biggest share of the Indian market for electric passenger vehicles. With more new models, the domestic car manufacturer is now striving for an even larger market share in this segment. The brand’s highly anticipated electric vehicle, the Curvv EV, is about to make its debut.
1. A ground-up EV
The Tata Curvv EV will be an entirely electric car from the bottom up. The coupe SUV is already a specialised body form, and Tata Motors will be the first to enter this market with the Curvv EV. In addition to seeking a larger market share in the Indian electric passenger car market, in which Tata Motors now owns approximately 85% of the market, the Curvv EV is expected to increase the brand’s value due to its unique body shape.
2. Aggressively unique styling
Given that an aggressive appearance is anticipated, the Tata Curvv EV concept model was shown. Based on Tata Motors’ practice of incorporating concert model signature design aspects into production models, it is anticipated that the Curvv EV will also include distinctive styling. The SUV coupe would have flush-fitting door handles, connected LED taillights, a full-width LED light strip across the front profile, a sloping roofline, and a dramatic front profile.
3. A feature packed interior
For a number of reasons, consumers have come to like Tata Motors. A broad range of features is one of them. This trend is anticipated to continue with the Tata Curvv EV. A 12-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is included. Expect an all-digital instrument cluster as well. Touch-based HVAC controls and a twin-spoke steering wheel with the Tata emblem illuminated are anticipated for the Curvv EV. Additional amenities would be a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, and ventilated front seats.
4. Safety features
Like its siblings, the forthcoming Tata Curvv EV is anticipated to have excellent safety. The forthcoming Curvv EV is anticipated to have robust build quality and safety features, much like the Nexon, Punch, and other Tata vehicles. This is intended to guarantee a four-star safety rating in crash tests. It should come with a minimum of six airbags. Among the many cutting-edge technologically assisted safety features of the Curvv EV are an ADAS suite and a 360-degree surround camera.
5. Another car with multiple powertrain options
Over the past few years, Tata Motors has established a history of introducing vehicles with customisable powertrain options. Powertrain options for the Tiago, Tigor, and Punch models include petrol, petrol-CNG, and electric. Along with petrol, diesel and electric vehicle options, a petrol-CNG version of the Nexon is planned. The forthcoming Curvv will proceed in a same manner. As Tata Motors has already said, it will first be available in EV configuration, with ICE versions to arrive later.
