Triumph unveiled the Daytona 660 to start out the new year. The fully-faired motorcycle was frequently observed during traffic tests in other countries. It has now been made official publicly.
Unveiled: Triumph Daytona 660
The goal of the Triumph Daytona 660 is to recreate the appeal and thrill of the previous Daytona model 675R. With a maximum power output of 128 horsepower, it was an impressive bike. However, insufficient demand and stricter pollution regulations led to its discontinuation in 2017.
The Daytona 660 has a strong front fascia and split headlamps that give it a commanding street presence. The bike’s multilayer fairing serves practical requirements like handling and engine cooling while still being aesthetically beautiful. There are some similarities to the Honda CBR650R, particularly in terms of the side profile.
A big windscreen, sporty rearview mirrors positioned on the front cowl, a sculpted fuel tank, sporty graphics and decals, split seat design, and underbelly exhaust are a few of the highlights. There will be a variety of vibrant color possibilities. Users can anticipate a relaxed riding position that is appropriate for city streets.
Specifications and performance of the Triumph Daytona 660
The Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660 use the same basis as the Triumph Daytona 660. A 660cc liquid-cooled inline 3-cylinder engine with a maximum power output of 95 bhp and a peak torque of 69 Nm would power the bike. It has a 6-speed gearbox attached to it. In comparison to other Triumph 660cc bikes, performance metrics are the highest on this model.
Daytona 660 is ready to provide the most exciting experience possible. This fits with Daytona’s sporty style. A bi-directional quick shifter, riding modes, and traction control are a few examples of the high-tech features available on the Daytona 660. Daytona 660 might have an extra race-focused riding mode in contrast to Tiger Sport 660, which has two riding modes: road and rain.
A good deal of the hardware is taken from other Triumph 660c bikes. The suspension setup has Showa mono-shock with preload adjustability at the back and Showa 41 mm USD forks up front. The Trident 660’s braking system consists of one 220 mm disc at the back and two 310 mm floating discs up front. ABS with dual channels will be the norm.
Cost of a Triumph Daytona 660
The Triumph Daytona 660 features a multifunction, color TFT instrument console. Numerous features are included, including smartphone connectivity, navigation, and maybe an optional tire pressure monitoring system. Standard 17-inch wheels are fitted with 180/55 tires on the back and 120/70 tires on the front.
Regarding cost, the Triumph Daytona 660 may be purchased at between Rs. 9 lakh and Rs. 9.5 lakh (ex-sh). For comparison, the starting price of the Trident 660 is Rs 8.12 lakh. The cost of the Tiger Sport 660 is Rs 9.34 lakh in contrast. Prices for Daytona 660 will be more comparable to those of Tiger Sport 660. Daytona 660 will serve a specialized market with its high price.
