Prior to the T20I series, the Team India team arrived in Durban on Wednesday; however, a source claims that a few players have not yet joined the team. In light of Hardik Pandya’s absence, the BCCI had announced the teams for the tour on Thursday of last week. Ravindra Jadeja, who is also a member of the T20I squad, is presently in Europe and has not yet joined the team. Suryakumar Yadav will continue to lead the T20Is.
Some more players on the team are reportedly on their way from Europe, according to Cricbuzz. When the T20I team plays South Africa, Jadeja serves as vice captain.
Shubman Gill, on the other hand, revealed that he had joined the team by sharing an Instagram story of himself relaxing at the Kingsmead Cricket Stadium. Gill is a member of the South Africa T20I team as well.
For the Indian side, Deepak Chahar’s absence-who is attending to a family matter-remains a concern. According to the study, it’s still unclear exactly when Chahar arrived in South Africa. It’s interesting to note that the talented bowler, who plays for the ODI team, has not been replaced despite his absence.
The report also stated that every player who isn’t in South Africa right now, along with a support staff member, has properly obtained authorization from the BCCI to join the team at a later time. The team will be at maximum strength before the first Twenty20 International on December 10.
Moreover, two selectors, Salil Ankola and SS Das, are scheduled to travel to South Africa. This choice was made due to the busy schedule, which includes three India A games, ODIs, T20Is, and Tests. This means that two selectors are needed to manage the broad range of games that the Indian team plays.
This will be India’s first bilateral tour abroad since the team’s three ODI and two Test matches against Bangladesh in December of last year. As Rohit Sharma’s team got ready for the 2023 World Cup, most of India’s attention has been on the fifty-over format this year. On November 19, India suffered their last disappointment of the tour when they lost to Australia by six wickets in Ahmedabad.
