A great example of the fruit of hard work is Rocky Lee, the million dollar artist and founder of the million dollar record label.
Born in Bronx and raised in Brooklyn, Lee started working in music at the age of 18 and always had a good sense of music. Today, he is famous for creating million dollar music and providing funds for young and up coming artists in New York.
His advice to the generation starting young and aspiring artists?
There are three major attitude adjustments one should make, if they want to be successful in any career. Face challenges, grab opportunities and stay consistent.
Committing to the work 100% is rare in today’s day and age. Many want to be successful for the wrong reasons and to most only money matters. That mentality won’t work if one wants to rise on the pinnacle of success.
Surround yourself with people who motivate and inspire you!
Lee says it is incredibly important to be around people who motivate you on a regular basis and give you a deeper insight into the field you choose. Opportunities may rise anytime and anywhere, so grab them and make the best out of them. Even failure is an opportunity to learn something.
Failure or repeated failures can also feel like a challenge. Hence, it is important to face these challenges and keep moving forward. Most importantly, stay committed to one thing. Keep practising that, make progress each day. As Lee says, “Don’t be a boss, be a leader”.
